Whidbey Community Foundation is excited to announce it has granted awards to 37 nonprofits from its 2024 Community Health Grant Program and Nonprofit Capacity Building Grant Program. This year WCF received over 57 applications totaling more than $412,500.
“Our Grants Committee is made up of community members from all across our island and helps WCF determine final funding decisions. This year, WCF several new grant programs including the Community Health Grant and Nonprofit Capacity Building Grant Programs.” stated Jessie Gunn, Executive Director. “We plan to open these grant opportunities annually.”
WCF awarded 37 grantees totaling over $191,000 this year spanning all parts of Whidbey Island.
“This year we were able to award a limited amount of grants in the $10,000 range and would like to thank our donors and community supporters who have helped us to reach this point,” said Gunn. “We were able to make grants to 37 nonprofits from different funds held at WCF thanks to our generous donors. This year our grants were funded by the Foundation Fund, the Madrona Fund, the Carney Fair Winds Fund, the Shapiro-Valis Family Fund, and the Saul Family Fund.”
Since grants were first awarded in 2017, Whidbey Community Foundation has provided over 500 grants totaling over $2,800,000.
