Success in 2018

With the help and encouragement of our neighbors and supporters, the Whidbey Community Foundation has been successful in achieving our 2018 goals:

  • Numerous free trainings offered for Non-Profits, with over 300 participants;
  • Strategic communications with key community members and civic groups;
  • Fifteen grants provided to support the work of non-profit groups.

Our outreach efforts and training workshops were offered on North, Central and South Whidbey. Special appreciation goes to Goosefoot and Whidbey Island Bank for their generous grant support which provided capacity funding for the 2018 WCF training programs. We worked collaboratively with Washington State Non-Profits to deliver valuable training on legal issues, fundraising and board member responsibilities.

Throughout 2018, WCF remained 100% led and supported by volunteers, including our Executive Director Nancy Conard.  15 volunteers contributed more than 800 hours of time and service to support nonprofits on Whidbey Island, including the active Board of Directors.
