As Whidbey Community Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, we’re reflecting on the partnerships, generosity, and shared commitment that have shaped a decade of community impact. None of this work happens alone—and we would love for you to be part of telling that story.
We’re creating a series of short videos featuring the voices of our nonprofit partners, donors, and community members.
Your perspective matters, and we invite you to share a brief video about:
- How a WCF grant has supported your organization
- Why you choose to give to WCF
- How WCF has played a role in your life or your work in the community
Your story will help highlight the many ways our island comes together to care for one another and strengthen the place we call home.

Filming Guidelines & Submissions
We’re so grateful you’re willing to share your story with us. Your voice is an important part of celebrating WCF’s first decade, and we want this process to feel simple and comfortable for everyone—whether you’ve recorded videos before or this is your very first time. We ask that you please submit your video by August 15th.
Below are a few tips to help with your filming:
- Please include your name & organization (if applicable) in your video.
- Phone cameras — try to film at 1080p HD at 30 fps or 4K at 30 fps.
- Film horizontally — Turn your phone sideways for a landscape shot.
- Stay steady — Prop your phone on a stable surface or use a tripod.
- Use natural light when possible — Face a window or soft light source.
- Keep it short — Aim for under two minutes long.
- Choose a quiet space — Background noise makes it harder to use your clip.
- Speak from the heart — No need for a script; authenticity is what matters.
- Speak at a natural pace — Slower than normal is often clearer on video.
- It’s okay to re‑record — Most people do a couple of takes; it’s totally normal.
