Funding
Each year, Whidbey Community Foundation makes grants to organizations providing services benefiting Whidbey Island. There are several different types of grants your organization could apply for, all of which are listed on WCF’s Funding Opportunities page.
Island Thrift awards grants for specific projects, events, and programs that support one of the following categories: Kids, Quality of life, Seniors. Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Goosefoot oversees the Round Up program at the Goose Grocer which supports a range of other nonprofits in the community. Apply today to become a recipient of the Round Up program.
Proceeds from the annual Whidbey Island Garden Tour are donated to selected causes, nonprofit and education organizations that support the improvement, restoration, education and maintenance of our common Whidbey Island habitat. Grant application projects emphasizing public space enhancement and education are of particular merit. Learn more about how to apply.
Whidbey Telecom is committed to enriching the quality of life in our communities by being a good corporate citizen and giving back. They consider requests for donations and support on a monthly basis.
The Puget Sound Energy Foundation has an annual grant program open to community-based public charity organizations across PSE’s 16-county, including Island County, working or service areas in Washington State.
Candid’s premier databases, Foundation Directory Online and Grants to Individuals, are now available for free at Freeland Library in addition to the already-established center at Marysville Library.
GrantStation offers a free weekly email newsletter of both national and regional grant opportunities.
Education
Nonprofit Association of Washington (NAWA) makes sure that you and your nonprofit have access to learning opportunities that help you know what you need to know, strengthen your skills, and build connections with others. They work in partnership with content experts and local, statewide, and national partners to share information and connect you with resources that are relevant and timely. They offer both in-person and virtual trainings as well as an online learning library you can access anytime.
In 2025, Nonprofit Tech for Good will offer three low-cost certificate programs for nonprofit professionals. The curriculum covers website and email marketing, online fundraising, social media, and artificial intelligence (AI). To earn the certificates, you can attend the webinars live or view the recordings—or a combination of both.
