Free Census 2020 Workshops in January and February

Census 2020. Whidbey Counts

Whidbey Community Foundation is hosting two free 2020 Census workshops:  January 29 at the Freeland Library from 10am to 12pm, and on Friday, February 7 at the Oak Harbor Library from 10:30am to 12:30pm. We invite you to join us and our partners—Washington NonprofitsIsland County, the US Census Bureau, and Sno-Isle Libraries—for a fun, informative, and action-oriented workshop.

The Census determines how funds are distributed for schools, nonprofit services, roads, and other programs that make our community special. We all care about our State’s and Island’s future, and we have the power to work together to ensure that everyone is counted next year.

Attendees will learn:

  • The why, what, how, and when of the 2020 Census; and why it matters to Washington state, Island County, and nonprofits.
  • How to support the count as community organizations and individuals.
  • Who to connect with to support the 2020 Census.
  • What resources are available for getting out the count.
  • Tools and strategies to effectively communicate about the 2020 Census.

The workshops are tailored to nonprofits, and the general public is welcome to attend. Space is limited; we ask you to please register in advance.

Thank you and we look forward to working together to ensure that everyone is counted in the Census this year!
