Support your Community Foundation and Create a Better Whidbey Island
When you support Whidbey Community Foundation — as a donor, a nonprofit organization, a financial advisor or simply as a caring community member — you help us fulfill local needs that no other single organization can fulfill. We help donors explore ways to make strategic contributions that align with their charitable goals while maximizing tax advantages. We connect nonprofits to education, training, capacity-building and funding that support and energize their missions. And we bring our community together to support both philanthropists and charitable organizations, deepening our shared commitment to making Whidbey a more vital and caring place to live and visit. Call us at 360.660.5041 or email us today to learn more. Whidbey Community Foundation’s federal EIN is 81-3860867.
You can support the Whidbey Island we all love in these ways:
Support the Foundation’s work by donating to the Foundation Fund: Your tax-deductible gift will build your new Community Foundation from the ground up; fuel our ability to provide training, grants, and other assistance to nonprofits; and, help us grow into one of the most effective community foundations in Washington. Support the Foundation Fund by donating now, or contact us to get more information.
Establish a Donor-Advised fund: Have ongoing involvement in the use of your gift as you work with our professional staff to identify ways to use earnings from your Donor-Advised Fund to address the issues and needs you care about. You could even involve your children in philanthropy by having them serve on an advisory committee for your fund. Contact us for information on how to establish your fund.
Contribute to a Community Impact Fund: Your gift can address ever-changing community needs in the areas of Animal Welfare, Arts and Culture, Education, Environment and Recreation, Health and Wellness, and Human Services. As the funds grow, we will make grants to local nonprofits through the Community Impact Fund.
Become a Corporate Sponsor: Each corporate philanthropy investment, regardless of the size, grows the ripple of philanthropy created by our community.
Participate in the annual Holiday Sculpture Fund: Each November, renowned sculptor Georgia Gerber and her husband, Randy Hudson create a Holiday Sculpture that is available for purchase through the Whidbey Community Foundation. Sales of the Holiday Sculpture benefit nonprofit organizations on Whidbey Island.
Support the Essential Needs Program: WCF and Goosefoot Community Fund have partnered as lead fundraisers for the program. The Essential Needs Program is available to help Whidbey Island friends and neighbors with practical needs like housing set-up expenses, utilities, and one-time extraordinary expenses like car repairs. It is designed to help members of the Whidbey Island community when no other existing assistance is available.
