Christmas Sculpture Fund Introducing the 2018 Pewter Sculpture: Sheepish Rabbit

The Christmas Sculpture Fund is a gift to our community from renowned sculptor Georgia Gerber and her husband, Randy Hudson.

In their words:

Welcome to the 20th year of our Christmas Sculpture Project. This is the second year we have collaborated with the Whidbey Community Foundation. Last season was our most successful to date and we thank WCF for all they do. We also want to thank the Rob Schouten Gallery for helping us with distribution this year.

What started out long ago as Christmas gifts for family and friends expanded into an annual fund-raising effort in support of local social service organizations on Whidbey Island. The project has helped make a difference in the lives of many people — particularly children since our main focus has been providing for organizations that assist families during the holiday season.

How to Order

If you would like to become a collector, or add to your growing collection, your donation will be made to Whidbey Community Foundation, and we will work with WCF to decide where to direct the proceeds based on our experience from past years.

Donors to the 2018 Fund will receive this year’s Christmas Pewter, Sheepish Rabbit (2.5″ H x 2.75″ W x 1.5″ D).  Also available is the 2017 Settling Owl (2.75″ H x 3.4″ W x 3″ D). The minimum donation is $200 for each sculpture requested. Due to the configuration of this website, if you wish to order one or more of BOTH the 2018 Sheepish Rabbit AND 2017 Settling Owl, you will need to make a separate donation for each year’s sculpture.  This requires completing the entire ordering process twice.

The materials cost for the Sheepish Rabbit is $80, which means that $120 of your contribution is tax deductible and will go to nonprofits.  The materials cost for the Settling Owl is $70, which means that $130 of your contribution is tax deductible and will go to nonprofits.

You will receive an email confirmation which includes a statement for the IRS indicating what portion of your contribution is tax-deductible.

Our Traditional Request and Closing

We remind you of the spirit of this project — it is an effort to raise money for a number of important organizations such as  South Whidbey Good Cheer  and The Holiday House, who provide so much help and support to our neighbors in need. For this project to be meaningful, your contribution must be in addition to what you would have donated otherwise. We are happy to have you as a collector, but we urge you to continue your usual generous support of Whidbey charitable and service organizations. Thanks for your support of this project. As your collection grows and adds to your Holiday traditions, it’s nice to know we have all helped make Christmas a lot merrier for a good many of our neighbors.

Happy Holidays,

Randy Hudson and Georgia Gerber
