Almost 70 board members and staff of Whidbey nonprofits attended free training in May provided by Whidbey Community Foundation. WCF Board Member Sara Kelly and her father Doug Kelly, both attorneys, donated their time to provide workshops on the Legal and Financial Responsibilities of Nonprofit Board Members. The workshops were provided free to Whidbey nonprofits, and held at the South Whidbey Community Center and the Oak Harbor Senior Center.
More training this year is being developed by Whidbey Community Foundation, this time in partnership with Washington Nonprofits. Board training will be offered in September, and Fundraising training is scheduled for November. Check the WCF website often for announcements of training and grant opportunities.
